Bring a tiny forest to life! In this hands-on workshop, children will create their own miniature terrarium inside a glass jar using moss, stones, natural materials, and a little imagination. They’ll learn about how plants grow, why moss is important in nature, and how to care for their tiny ecosystem at home.
Each person will leave with a beautiful woodland terrarium and the knowledge to keep it thriving.

The GOODS grew out of a desire to create a place where people could come together, share knowledge and resources, support local makers and producers, and make practical, sustainable choices without having to do everything on their own.
As organizers, we bring together our experience in small-scale agriculture, homesteading, making, food preservation, sustainability, community organizing, and small business to create opportunities for our community to participate rather than simply shop.
The GOODS is more than a store. We’re building a space for workshops, makers, local producers, bulk and refill shopping, community gatherings, shared resources, and practical skills. Our goal is to make sustainable living more accessible, support local people and small businesses, reduce waste, and create a space where everyone has something to contribute.
We’re still building, learning, renovating, and figuring things out as we go. That’s part of the point. The GOODS is being built with the community, not simply for the community.
Venue
Our event space is one part of the larger GOODS community space, designed for hands-on learning, creative workshops, community gatherings, and shared experiences.
Our indoor space comfortably accommodates 10–15 people for smaller classes, workshops, meetings, and community events. We’re also developing our back garden into an outdoor gathering area, which will soon provide seating for at least another 12–15 people among the garden and surrounding outdoor space.
The goal is to have flexible spaces where local instructors, makers, organizations, and neighbors can gather, teach, create, share skills, and connect. As the space continues to grow, so will the types of events and experiences we’re able to offer.
